How do social connections impact your health, happiness and wellbeing?
The Impact of Connections
The connections we have with other people can have a big impact on health. Positive connections improve our well-being. Negative connections can be harmful. Feeling a sense of belonging and support can protect us from the unhealthy effects of stress.
On this page, you will find resources, stories, and tools to help strengthen connections that support your well-being.

Staying active keeps me connected. I enjoy starting my day on morning walks with my partner and our dog, we love it when people stop to pet her!

Learning new things helps me meet new people. I like to sign up for free classes and local events, like the ones at my library and neighborhood park. I am always surprised at how willing people are to help me as I'm learning!

I feel connected through Volunteering. Volunteering and service to others give me a sense of connection and purpose. It feels good to participate in things I care about in my community, like local the community garden, school, library, or place of worship.
